It’s been a true roller coaster ride for the entire team at Hubilo since the onset of the pandemic. But, we are glad we came through stronger and united as a team than we started. 

Initially, it may have been haywire but since February end when we began to convert our idea into a fully functional product i.e. the virtual event platform that may be helpful for planners whose event especially in the region of APAC were being cancelled, from then the journey of 5000+ virtual event hours began.

The Beginning:

It is not a common occurrence that the events industry is hit by a pandemic every other year, so obviously none of us were prepared. But when our clients began to cancel their events starting from mid-January we got concerned.

It was only then in February when the entire team came together to brainstorm ideas if the events got cancelled like this. That moment we thought it may be possible for event organizers to opt for a virtual or a complete digital solution.

Was it possible?

Yes. Of course, it was. Virtual event software may not have been around for a long time but the concept was familiar as attendees were using event apps for networking, the registration process was also online but the major problem we faced was how to include sponsors and exhibitors.

By then we had rolled out our first set of features for the virtual event platform. It was only then we got our first set of clients (from UK and India) we began our journey as an amateur in the virtual space.

As it turns ours was the first virtual event platform on which the very first virtual event in India was conducted. From there began a series of events and improvisations in our platform.

Honestly, we were expecting everything to go on hold for a while; on the contrary we started receiving additional inquiries. With the COVID-19 crisis, going digital has become the new mandatory norm. 

From nothing we grew to 5000+ virtual event hours, building a community that is user-friendly, easy to access, and a virtual venue for 100+ clients.


A few challenges that came our way and we have been handing them in order to ensure a swift event execution for our clients!

1. With the number of clients that we on-boarded came a set of requirements and changes to be implemented in the platform.

2. Every event required a dedicated CSM to be present 24*7 as well as during the entire live event.

3. Marketing of the new product aka virtual event platform

4. The limited time frame to go live

Eventually, after hosting 15–20 events on Hubilo’s virtual event platform, the team got a hang of how to deal with the issues and how to move forward.

Unveiling Hubilo’s new look:

Looking at the landscape of the events industry for the year 2021 and 2022, event influencers, event planners and other professionals aren’t convinced to host an in-person event soon. This report from various publications gave Hubilo a light in the new direction. 

Being one of the first technology platforms to host successful virtual events in India and many other regions, not only we came out as thought leaders but also decided to revamp outlook and feel of the current product and website with the ongoing trend of Hybrid and Virtual.

So, with the changing face of the events industry, event platforms, Hubilo is launching a new look — A whole new design for the product and the website.
