The 11th Edition of Yourstory’s Annual Flagship Event, TechSparks 2020, was conducted on Hubilo’s Virtual Event Platform from 26th-30th October, 2020.
With over 200 speakers, 100000+ attendees and spread over 15 countries, TechSparks 2020 was an all-immersive global experience that brought together prominent leaders of the start-up industry.
YourStory, which is India’s biggest platform for startup and entrepreneur related stories, conducts TechSparks every year. This year, TechSparks 2020 was aimed at bringing together business leaders, policy makers, and investors across regions to share their insights on changing global markets, emerging business trends, and other relevant topics in the industry.
TechSparks 2020 kick-started with an opening keynote address by eminent personalities, the likes of whom were Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union Minister for Law and Justice, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology) and Dr. Nirmala Sitharaman (Hon’ble Finance Minister of India).
The event provided a single platform to network, learn from some of the best minds of the industry and showcase one’s own business to explore opportunities and collaborations.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the event also featured Tech30, an event for budding Indian startups to pitch innovative ideas.
This was the first time that TechSparks had shifted from a physical to a virtual venue, and one of the major challenges they had to overcome was conducting multiple sessions at the same time. Providing attendees with one-on-one chat options and networking opportunities similar to a physical event, was another obstacle.
To account for the multiple sessions, events were conducted parallelly using the ‘multiple session’ feature. There were around 7-8 parallel sessions being conducted along with the sessions of the keynote speakers. The roundtables and networking lounges were heavily used to connect with speakers, fellow attendees, and exhibitors.
What stood-out was the way YourStory tweaked the use of Exhibitor Booth. They used it as ‘Start- Up Pavilion’ where they featured all the upcoming tech startups.
The event witnessed keynotes, fireside chats, round table deep dives, masterclasses and some amazing Tech30 pitches. It wrapped up with Ratan Tata (Chairman, Tata Trust) giving a timeless closing note.
With a terrific response from the attendees, the event organizers were impressed with the seamless execution of the event. Indeed, it was a fabulous start to YourStory’s virtual events edition!
